Where do you pickup and drop off my stuff?

On your original reservation submission form, there was a text box that you inputted your preferred pickup and drop off location. If you made a mistake, please let us know at [email protected]. Please know that there may be a fee for late notice, so let us know as soon as you can

We at Boxed suggest you reserve the pickup the day of your official move out, or the day prior. We try to pickup all items (or plan with our Customers if later in the day) in the morning of the desired pickup date. Boxed understands that it’s not easy to live without your stuff, but also understands that moving out and potentially travelling home on the same day comes with its own stress! Rest assured - we will be there on the day you desire, just let us know if there is urgency for a certain time. Drop us a note at [email protected], if so.

We try our best to deliver your items either in the morning (9am - 12pm) or afternoon (1pm - 5pm), we will do our best to notify you the week of dropoff of the expected delivery time within the day you selected, but unexpected delays happen. We pride ourselves on communication and ensure correspondence with you and your family through the pickup, storage and dropoff.

Please shoot us an email as soon as you are able to at [email protected]. If the pickup date change is within 72 hours of your pickup date, we reserve the right to charge you a $100 change-fee. This fee is used to cover the cost of our expense that will therefore be incurred by Boxed because of this. We want to ensure you are satisfied with Boxed and our service. The earlier you can let us at Boxed know, the better for both of us.

We understand you cannot be everywhere at all times - we wish we could, too! Please note that Boxed is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items before your items are picked up by you after delivery. We suggest you shoot us an email ([email protected]) if you are having an immediate family member, roommate or close friend take delivery of your items for you. Similar to you not being present at the time of dropoff or pickup, Boxed is not responsible for any lost, damaged, or stolen items. If you are requesting a change in dropoff time within 72 hours of your dropoff date, we reserve the right to charge you a $100 change-fee. This fee is used to cover the cost of our expense that will therefore be incurred because of this. We want to ensure you are satisfied with Boxed and our service. The earlier you can let us at Boxed know, the better for both of us.

Our carts are able to fit four of our 18" x 18" x 18" "Boxed Boxes" with ample room to spare. The average customer moving out of their dorm with no large items or furniture is able to fit a majority of their personal items in the cart.

I don’t have enough materials to pack my items

The average "18x18x18" box will roughly fit 3 pairs of shoes, 10 t-shirts, 6 pairs of shorts, 3-4 sweatshirts, 5 pairs of pants, 10 pairs of socks and some underwear. If you are wondering what can be fit within the "18x18x18" box for bedroom-type items, the average "18x18x18" box will fit 2 sheet sets, 1 comforter, 1-2 pillows, 1-2 blankets, 2 lights and a few extension cords/outlet plugs. Please know that these are general numbers that vary widely depending on packing tightness, thickness of clothes/material, and of course the space between items.

  • Failing to provide quality photos - We request that both the group of boxes/items & individual photos of the packed boxed (from a bird's-eye viewpoint, as if you were looking down to the box) to Boxed. Please submit high quality photos, without any blur or lack of focus to the items you are storing.
  • Incorrect information on the side of the box - we are only as good as the information provided to us. When in doubt, shoot us a note at [email protected].
  • Lacking to bubble-wrap fragile items - We urge you to carefully and diligently wrap any items prone to damage/breaking. While we have a distinct policy around insurance, claims, damage and what is covered, it's easier for both of us to avoid this issue if you help us, help you, by packing well. Please ensure that all glass is double wrapped. All boxes and items will be on a moving truck, so please remember this!
  • Not sealing the box(es) - Please be mindful that the packing tape does provide a solid seal to the boxes, it is far from perfect. When in double, double tape the box shut. We want your items to safely and securely be picked up and delivered - help us by making sure they stay secured as you left them and use tape amply.
  • Expecting Boxed to pack your items While we may assist in this in the future, we do not and will not assist in the packing of your personal items.
  • Having additional items not included in original quote or pricing summary - Boxed understands there is more you own than you think you own. Please take a picture, send it to [email protected] and notify your pickup contact/person as soon as you are aware of this change in items. It may affect the moving truck size, timing of other peoples’ pickup as well as your storage fee.

Your items are stored in a climate-controlled storage facility nearby campus. While we can always provide you with updates to your order (pickup / dropoff) as well as confirmation of delivery to the storage facility, we are not able to share the exact location due to liability. Rest assured - while your stuff is stored there, so is our business. We guarantee your items are safe, secure and in a climate-controlled location.

Boxed has insurance for up to $100 on every item stored. An ‘item’ is defined as a 18"x18"x18" box, and the $100 insurance includes the box in of itself and its contents. We are happy to offer additional insurance if you wish, just shoot us a note at [email protected]. While additional insurance is provided at an additional fee, we understand the worry that storage of your personal belongings brings to our Customers.

Boxed does not intend to search each and every item prior to or during your storing. Routine inventory, safety and storage checks are within our right at Boxed. However, we strictly forbid any contraband, hazardous material, flammable material, temperature sensitive items, corrosive materials, any jewelry or personal heirlooms (including, but not limited to anything you can not bring onto a commercial plane), we do reserve the right to search and account for items within your box. As a general rule of thumb, don’t pack anything you wouldn’t want your parents, teacher(s)/Professor(s) to see…..If you are in question, our rights at Boxed or yours, please refer to the Rules & Conditions documentation. What is the $25 fee from Boxed?

Your $25 reservation goes toward reserving your storage for the summer, locking in your pickup date, and providing you with complementary boxes and moving materials. Your reservation fee is refundable if it is within 72 hours of your pickup day, and you have not taken delivery of your complementary moving materials.

After bringing your cart and boxes into storage, your card will be charged based upon our pricing of $119 for one College Cart with an additional cart for $99/month, $30 for an additional box, and a la cart for extra-large items.
After your items are safely picked up and securely stored at one of our facilities, the card on your Boxed profile will be charged for the entire length of your storage. Please note that the summer storage period is considered four months. We can store your items for any length of time that you’d like but will be charged for the 4 month term. Any cancellation, shorter time frame or immediate need to retrieve or receive your goods is at the sole discretion of Boxed and additional fees may be incurred with the request. If your outstanding bill is not paid within 5 days of its due date, you will be charged a $50 late payment fee to the original form of payment/added onto the balance remaining. Each additional day that passes with this outstanding balance, a $5 fee will be added to your current outstanding balance (inclusive of any late fees that have been added). Furthermore, late payments that are beyond 60 days allows Boxed to reclaim your items. We don’t want your stuff - and you don’t want that hassle, please email us at [email protected] if you expect a delay in payment to Boxed. Additionally, Boxed will try our best to contact you or your parent via the emails provided on the original reservation fee to notify you of any outstanding invoices. We pride ourselves on fair pricing, communication and transparency - and hope you respect Boxed, our Team & our pricing in return. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions with any additional questions.

Please ensure the charge is unrelated to the original reservation fee, any fees regarding your storage pickup/dropoff, late fees or any special fees that are noted to you. However, please know that we do make mistakes - and we will honor them if they are illegitimate. The minimum time frame to store your items is 4 months (typical summer storage term). We do also offer timing for students who plan on studying abroad, for that semester and through the summer! However, we can safely and securely store your items for any amount of time. Whether its 4 months, 6 months or two years - Boxed has you covered. Please note that you will not have ‘drop in’ or ‘mid-term’ access to your items, as any receival will declare the end of your storage term which may incur fees.

First off, we are unable to provide a refund on your original reservation fee. This fee provides us with the infrastructure & logitical costs that we need to take your order in the first place. However, we are able to return your items prior to the original dropoff date, subject to a fee and the complete discretion of Boxed on timing. We will try our best to organize your life change, and request you let us know at [email protected] as soon as you are aware of a shorter term requirement. Furthermore, if your items are mid-storage with Boxed, there may be additional fees to request delivery.
